Maybe you’ve struggled with bras peeking out from tricky silhouettes or have been let down (literally) by strapless or sticky bras. Perhaps you can never quite get the lift you desire in thin-strap tops and dresses or crave more cleavage in swimwear. Whatever the reason may be, finding and getting the best boob tape for your cup size can solve all these problems.
The Best Breast Lift Tapes 2024
Being braless yet lifted and supported sounds too good to be true. That’s the magic of breast tape: It’s the secret to a more natural look underneath clothing, and can be a comfortable bra alternative in the sweltering summer heat and humidity.
But what is boob tape exactly? “It’s an alternative for a bra made from a stretchy fabric with an adhesive backing that sticks directly onto the skin,” explains Stephanie Montes, founder of Nue. The brand is known for its sticky yet comfortable tape, which has sold out at Revolve 128 times and counts Pamela Anderson, Sofía Vergara, and Kimora Lee Simmons as fans. “You’ll get the lift and support you want without needing straps, clasps, or cups. They’ll hold the breasts in place under strapless, backless, or plunging necklines, which typically can’t be paired with a bra.”
It can be hard to know which boob tape is right for you, as not all the options on the market are created equal. “The breast tape market has exploded since Nue launched in 2020,” Montes tells Bazaar. “Recently, I’ve seen cheap versions in drugstores, on Amazon, and fast-fashion websites that give the entire industry a bad rap. Those often don’t stick, can’t handle sweat, and irritate the skin.”
So what should you look for? Montes says features of high-quality breast tape include adhesive that is gentle on the skin, latex-free, and easy to remove. Also important is an inclusive range of skin-tone options. “Basic black or white tapes create too much of a contrast against natural skin tones and show under light, dark, or sheer-colored clothes,” she warns. “Choosing a tape in a shade close to your skin tone is the only way to ensure it remains undetected under all fabrics.”
If you’re wondering if breast tape is actually right for you, it is. Montes says it’s a one-size-fits-all product that is not exclusive to small boobs, but for anyone with large breasts as well. “Some of our most loyal fans are G-cups and above,” she tells Bazaar. “Someone with an A-cup would use less tape than someone with, say, an H-cup, but it works just as well for all sizes. Just cut to the length you need for the perfect fit.”

Pros
- Comes in various skin tones
- Hypoallergenic
- Waterproof
- Easy to remove
Cons
- Sells out quickly
Nue comes in a variety of skin tones and is designed to lift and support breasts of all sizes. The adhesive is hypoallergenic and waterproof, so you can wear it comfortably for hours. It even holds up if you take a dip in the pool. “You can submerge the tape in water when swimming,” Montes tells Bazaar. “A lower-quality tape might not hold up to sweat or movement, like dancing.” She adds, “The fabric is super stretchy, which allows it to move with your body and give you a comfortable lift. It’s also incredibly soft and breathable under clothes.”
Come for the breast support, stay for the label’s many charity efforts. “Nue believes that lifting women up should go far beyond replacing her bra,” says Montes. “Aside from providing a solution, [we’re] a company with a purpose.” The brand donates a percentage of its revenue to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, creates a community through quarterly support-group meet-ups designed to mentor teenage girls in the San Fernando Valley who need a safe space. It also works with the Bra Recyclers to reduce its carbon footprint by donating bras to women in need, as well as those escaping domestic violence and human trafficking. Plus, Nue also works with the Prom initiative, which awards 10 underprivileged high school teens with an all-inclusive glam day, free of charge.

What reviewers are saying: “Big-chested girl here! Absolutely love this whole pack and WELL worth the purchase! I purchased the party pack boob tape kit for DD/E (strong). I accidentally ordered in black for usage under a lace top agave (green color) bridesmaid dress. Oops! So I ordered an extra boob tape roll in champagne the week before, and after trial & error, I found that using both the roll and classic cut was a perfect fit. The roll is VERY sticky and tough to cut. It is also tougher to remove (saturate in olive oil!!!) The classic cuts are much easier to work with and fit well by themselves, but using the tape to reinforce it really helped give me the perfect lift AND kept it secured in place the entire day! The tape was a bit itchy at times, but well worth it. Because the lace dipped low, some of the tape was visible under the dress, but because it blended in with my skin tone so well, you couldn't notice!”
The best way to apply boob tape?
Always start with clean skin when applying boob tape, and avoid using moisturizer beforehand, so it can adequately cling to the skin. Then, apply your tape in various pieces to achieve the look and support you need, whether over the shoulders for extra lift, around your back, or over the nipples for support and coverage.
When removing boob tape, gently lift from the edge to slowly peel it off, being careful not to rip it off abruptly and damage the skin. You can apply warm water, body oil, or petroleum (like Vaseline or Aquaphor) to help loosen adhesive that doesn’t easily peel off. It is, however, wise to hydrate skin after using boob tape to calm any irritation.
Many brands, like Nue, offer tutorials on their website and social media channels for tips and tricks. “My general rules of thumb are: Tape upwards for a lift and inwards for cleavage,” says Montes. “For plunging necklines, I often place the tape under the breast and lift it up, sticking the end of the tape close to the shoulder. This gives you the ultimate breast lift. For a tube top, I go across the chest in a bandeau style. Taping the breasts together from side to side gives plenty of cleavage and lift.”
If you’re unsure how to pair your neckline with your breast tape style, Nue offers an outfit calculator quiz that eliminates guesswork.
Is boob tape reusable?
Boob tape is not reusable. “Once you remove the tape, the backing loses its adherent,” Montes explains. However, rolls of more than 16 feet of tape, like Nue’s, offer plenty of uses from a single roll.
