So I'm finally planning to watch Gintama, but the problem is that there is too much I should watch and I don't know the order that is appropriate for it. Does anybody know the best way to experience the series in the right and satisfying way?

Gintama Jump festa OVA 2014
Gintama' Enchousen (253-265)
Gintama Movie 2- Be Forever Yorozuya
Gintama° (266-291)
Gintama. Porori hen (329-341) - skip the opening and the first 2 minutes of episode 329 as they contain spoilers.
Gintama° (292-295)
Gintama Love potion OVAs
Gintama° (296-316)
Gintama. (317-328)
Gintama Silver Soul part 1( 342-353)
Gintama Silver Soul part 2(354-367)

Gintama (3-201) the first three eps are fillers made for the manga readers so you can watch it if you want to. I recommend watching.

perfect watch order, but instead of the semi final OVAs i would suggest to read chapter 686-698. The anime skipped a lot of stuff which is important for the final movie.

Wait is it really good to watch the slip arc in between Gintama°? Im on 232 so im getting pretty close and would like to know before hand. Also is it still fine to watch release order?

Watching the slip arc in between Gintama° is the same order as it is in the Manga. So thats the way Sorachi intended the story to be watched. But you have to skip the opening because it contains spoilers. You can still watch the release order tho. Would personally not recommend it, but it's hard to explain why without spoiling a little bit so it's up to you.

Got it. If that’s the way it is in the manga then I’ll do it that way. Thanks for letting me know! When can I watch the opening? Once I get to where slip arc wouldve been initially?
