Ladies, we need to take a minute to discuss this dark-horse beauty trend that’s seemingly popped out of nowhere this winter. Even as full, strong eyebrows continue to be a major thing (styling your brows might be even more important than doing your eye makeup next fall!), magazines and designers are also exploring the opposite end of the spectrum: bleached eyebrows.

What’s fascinating about bleached brows is how they completely transform a person’s face, rendering her nearly unrecognizable. Some recent, rather-famous examples:

Kendall Jenner walked the Marc Jacobs fall 2014 runway with bleached brows.

Causing much less of a tabloid frenzy: Models at Alexander Wang’s show had invisible eyebrows as well.

Miley Cyrus is currently on the cover of W magazine with bleached brows.

And now supermodel Karlie Kloss has turned up on the March cover of W Korea with her famous arches looking nearly invisible.

Gaga wore bleached brows to our own Women of the Year event! Here she is posing with our EIC, Cindi.

Clearly, this is what we call a very “runway” beauty trend and not one I imagine you’ll be copying any time soon. Still, we’d love to hear your reaction to all the bleached-eyebrows moments that’ve been happening this winter. Do you find bleached eyebrows cool and intriguing or just really eerie? Does a celeb who dares to do this earn your mad respect, for trying something artistic that’s potentially wildly unflattering? Do we owe it all to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo?
