Sneak Peek: The Limited Is Launching A Bridal Line (PICS!)
Last night, I went to preview The Limited’s brand new wedding line. It’s completely affordable (wedding dresses are under $300), ultra cute and even though it won’t be in stores until June, I thought you might want a glimpse of what’s coming.
For their first foray into bridal territory, The Limited kept it small and focused. There were two strapless wedding gowns, both $298, and one short wedding/cocktail dress.
I couldn’t decide which of the gowns I liked better. The Romantic Wedding Dress style has a long fluttery skirt and a belted waist. It comes in off-white silk chiffon and would definitely work for a beach wedding.
The Elegant Wedding Dress is more classic and evening-y, though it also has a belted waist and comes in ivory silk-cotton fabric.
I’ve got a soft spot for short dresses so needless to say, I was a fan of the cocktail style. It’d make a great “second dress” if you’re a bride who wants to change after your ceremony, or it could also double as a rehearsal dress if you relish the idea of a LWD for your night before.
There were also two styles of bridesmaid dresses, a ruffly halter and a more basic tank. The color palette was “dark periwinkle smog grey, bright poppy, turquoise and gothic.” The bridesmaid dresses will retail for $89.50—not bad!
Now that you’ve gotten this insider’s glimpse, it’s your turn to weigh in. At the preview last night, the line’s designer said he was hoping to expand their offerings soon and it would be fabulous to get some feedback from you, readers. What would you like to see in The Limited’s wedding line (colors, styles, fabrics)? What do you like best about their collection so far—the prices, the designs, the colors? What’s still missing?
