Wedding Guest Attire Debate: How Short Is Too Short A Dress?
We’ve talked a lot about what *not *to wear here, whether it be to a wedding, a date, or to work. And you might have seen the controversy over the minidress Ciara wore to LaLa Vasquez’s wedding last weekend, which got us thinking about this topic all over again. Just how short is too short when it comes to wedding attire?
Time for you to weigh in again. We gathered celeb pics from the red carpet and put them into three categories: dresses we wouldn’t be caught dead in at a wedding (no way), dresses where the appropriateness of the hemline is up for debate (maybe baby), and dresses that would totally fly (definitely). See if you agree….
As with all questions of taste and style, sometimes it’s not about having an exact rule (like Susan’s mom’s handy tip that your skirt should be longer than your fingertips grazing with your arms straight down) but the way the stuff is worn—how much skin is showing elsewhere? What are the shoes like? Is it supertight and supershort (a no-no in my book). IMHO, Ciara’s downfall wasn’t so much her micromini but the towering platforms she chose to accessorize with. A pair of, say, flat sandals, could have at least kept her off the Wedding Don’t lists if not guaranteeing gramma’s seal of approval.
What do you think, ladies? Have we got it right, or are we dead wrong? Tell us!
